Graeme Wilson
In 2004, I graduated from the Focus Transpersonal Therapies Psychosynthesis course – a three year training course in Psychosynthesis. Before undertaking the training course I had worked with a Psychosynthesis guide for nine months, and had been amazed at the positive changes I experienced in my life. For me, the biggest change was the development of more self-confidence to undertake the challenges that arose in my life.
I learned a lot from my three years training, including plenty of personal development and self-growth. I learned the skills to speak publicly, facilitate workshops or group therapy sessions, as well as the core skills for working one-on-one with a client as a Psychosynthesis guide.
My third year project explored men's issues from a Psychosynthesis perspective. This began with exploring what it means to be a man in New Zealand society, from my own beliefs and observations, and culminated in running a men's group which used Psychosynthesis techniques and principles to allow a group of men to explore the beliefs they held about being a man, and how this has shaped and limited their lives.
Over the past 10 years I have been involved in a variety of self-development groups and systems, which lead me to discover Psychosynthesis, which I see as a refinement of many of these other teachings, free from a lot of jargon and unnecessary mystification.
I am interested in working with people in spiritual crisis to help them turn their spiritual emergency into spiritual emergence and Self-growth. Psychosynthesis provides an excellent framework for working with spiritual growth as it recognises a need for balance in all areas of a person's life, including the mind, body, emotions, and spirit.
If you live in or around the Dunedin area and are interested in one-on-one Psychosynthesis sessions (which are 1.5 hours in duration) then please feel welcome to contact me to discuss your requirements. I am happy to meet with you in person before you decide if Psychosynthesis is an approach which feels right to you, and if you feel I am the right person to guide you into your process.
